In the rolling hills of Southern Illinois, Grandmother Della was more than just a matriarch—she was the bedrock upon which four generations learned that true wealth isn't measured in dollars but in the love you pour into your work and community. Teaching Sunday school for forty years, pressing bars of handmade goat milk soap into the hands of struggling neighbors, and opening her farmhouse kitchen to anyone who needed a meal, Della lived the truth that giving from what little you have creates abundance for everyone. She taught five-year-old Lois the ancient alchemy of soap-making not as a quaint hobby but as sacred knowledge—that patience, quality, and care transform simple ingredients into something that heals. When six-year-old Joshua nearly burned down the house in an ambitious cooking experiment, it was Della who channeled that dangerous curiosity into disciplined craft, teaching him that excellence comes not from talent but from respecting your materials and honoring the process. Every guest receives our goat's milk beauty products – not because it's trendy, but because at age five, I learned from Della that what you put on your skin should be made with the same care as what you put on your table. These aren't just amenities; they're four generations of love in a bar.

Space to Breathe

We only have a few tents. That's intentional. Della taught me that good things shouldn't be mass-produced. You'll have privacy and the space to actually hear yourself think. Sit out under the evening sky gazing up at the stars, and wake up with the soft crowing of roosters drifting across the fields.

Everyone's Welcome

Bring your kids (under 12, stay for free). Bring your dogs (they need vacations too). We're not a couples-only retreat or an adults-only escape. We're a place where families make memories, just like Della and I did all those years ago.
